Dhanbad, July 15 – Delhi Public School (DPS Bokaro), in collaboration with the Bokaro District Yogasana Sports Association (BDYSA), organized a comprehensive two-day Yogasana training program aimed at students from various schools across the city.
The event, held on the school campus, featured renowned yoga coaches Vikash Gope, recipient of the Jharkhand Yoga Ratna award, and national swimmer cum gymnast Shankar Rana. Over 155 students enthusiastically participated in the sessions, which covered a range of yoga techniques from full-body yogic exercises to Pranayama.
Dr. A.S. Gangwar, Principal of DPS Bokaro and President of BDYSA, highlighted the importance of fostering physical well-being among students. “The sessions were meticulously designed to promote and sustain the physical health of our young participants,” he remarked during his address.
In addition to the yoga training, the event launched the ambitious ‘Go Green’ campaign within the school premises, underscoring a holistic approach to health and environmental consciousness.
During the sessions, emphasis was placed on the significance of nutrition and the role of discipline in maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular yoga practice. Coaches encouraged students to adopt yoga as part of their daily fitness regimen to cultivate a stress-free and fulfilling life.
“The enthusiasm among students on the second day was palpable, reflecting their newfound commitment to embracing fitness and prioritizing their mental and physical well-being,” noted a spokesperson from DPS Bokaro.
Dr. Gangwar further extolled the virtues of yoga, emphasizing its benefits in enhancing memory, reducing anxiety, and fostering a positive outlook on life. “Yoga not only nurtures the body, mind, and soul but also equips individuals to lead healthier, more balanced lives,” he added.
All participants received certificates for their active engagement in the training sessions, which are expected to prepare them for upcoming yoga competitions at various levels.
The successful collaboration between DPS Bokaro and BDYSA underscores their shared commitment to promoting holistic health and well-being among students through structured yoga education.
