The sacred month of Sawan commenced on July 22 this year, heralding a period revered for the worship of Lord Shiva. This month holds particular significance with five Mondays, considered auspicious for devotees to perform special rituals in honor of Lord Shiva, whom Monday is dedicated to. Throughout Sawan, temples host special rituals and pujas to invoke blessings from the deity, with the first Monday falling on July 22 and the final on August 19.
According to Pandit Kamlesh Vyas, Sawan is among the holiest months, with this year featuring the auspicious Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga. This period, observed on the month’s first day, is believed to enhance the efficacy of rituals, not only for Lord Shiva but also for worshiping Goddess Lakshmi.
Preparations for Sawan’s festivities are in full swing at major Shiva temples nationwide, ensuring devotees can worship without hindrance. In Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Shiva temples like the renowned Harni Mahadev Temple have been meticulously cleaned and adorned with lights, underscoring the reverence for this auspicious month.
The temples in Bhilwara, including Harni Mahadev Temple, Shree Mansa Puran Mahadev Mandir, and others, are focal points for devotees seeking spiritual fulfillment during Sawan’s festivities.
