The Down to Play inclusive playground at Medallion Center is launching a children’s yoga series that runs through late November. Led by local yoga instructor Katy Spartz, the program is tailored for children aged 2 to 5, aiming to promote physical activity and emotional wellness.
Starting November 1 and continuing through November 22, the classes will be held every Friday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. The series includes four sessions, with tickets priced at $120, which covers all classes and includes one hour of free play.
Spartz, who owns the wellness business Lark + Evergreen, focuses on rebuilding postpartum health and utilizing yoga to help children manage their emotions. The classes will incorporate playful yoga poses, animal songs, breathing exercises, and storytelling to assist children in handling “big feelings.”
Opened this past summer, Down to Play features a 3,500 square-foot playground designed to be inclusive for children of all abilities, complete with sensory and therapy rooms.
