Nouf Al-Marwaai, President of the Saudi Yoga Committee, has been unanimously elected as the new president of the Asian Yoga Sports Federation for the upcoming term. The decision, which received strong backing from representatives of 15 countries, was made during the federation’s sixth general assembly in Dubai this week.
Expressing her gratitude, Al-Marwaai praised the support of federation members, emphasizing how her appointment highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing influence in sports across Asia. “The unanimous trust placed in me reflects the prominent position Saudi Arabia now holds in the region, particularly within sports, which has seen remarkable advancements,” she said.
Al-Marwaai credited the leadership of Saudi Arabia, particularly in sports, for empowering citizens to take on key regional and international roles. As the new president, she committed to expanding yoga across Asia, advocating for more championships and making yoga accessible to all ages.
She also acknowledged the support of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, for playing a pivotal role in her appointment and in ensuring Saudi Arabia’s continued presence on the global stage.
