On November 10, 2024, the Rashtra Sevika Samiti Delhi Prant held a remarkable event, “Shakha Sangam,” which highlighted the power of women in nation-building and self-confidence. Over 1,000 Sevikas—women of all ages, from young girls to elderly members—gathered to showcase unity and discipline under the Samiti’s banner. The event also welcomed prospective Sevikas who had yet to complete their training. More than 150 dignitaries and esteemed women from the Delhi Prant attended, offering their support and encouragement.
The core of Rashtra Sevika Samiti’s outreach lies in its Shakhas, the foundational units designed to foster holistic development through yoga, sports, talent cultivation, and social service. At Shakha Sangam, Sevikas from 30 Shakhas across Delhi performed a series of coordinated activities, including salutations to the saffron flag, group prayers, Surya Namaskar, and synchronized exercises. Their seamless coordination was a testament to the strength of their training.
A special tribute was paid to Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar in her 300th centenary year. Sevikas performed a yoga sequence in her honor, alongside a soulful rendition, “Karma Yogini Raj Yogini,” celebrating her legacy of leadership and devotion.
The event was graced by Smt. Riva Sood, Managing Director of Agriva Naturally, and Smt. Shashi Bubna, a respected social worker, who shared inspiring words with the attendees. Looking ahead, Rashtra Sevika Samiti plans to celebrate its 90th anniversary in 2026 with a grand procession. Delhi Prant has set ambitious goals to train 900 Sevikas and prepare 90 instrumentalists and vocalists, with the aim of strengthening national consciousness among youth, particularly girls, and fostering their role in society. Akhil Bhartiya Pramukh Sanchalika, Shanta Kumari Ji, emphasized that this initiative is vital for advancing both women’s empowerment and nation-building.
