As yoga’s popularity continues to soar, The Enrichment Academy is broadening its range of offerings, catering to those looking to enhance their well-being through mindful breathing and stretching exercises.
The academy’s spring/summer catalog featured at least 13 distinct yoga-based classes, taught by six experienced instructors. Many of these classes were offered in multiple sessions throughout the season, resulting in hundreds of yoga sessions available to The Villages’ ever-growing community.
“Yoga helps you become more in tune with your body,” said Maryann Holden, a holistic health coach and certified yoga instructor at The Enrichment Academy. Holden teaches chair yoga for healthy aging, alongside a class on integrative nutrition.
What sets Holden’s chair yoga class apart is the incorporation of light hand weights, which are used during the session to target upper body strength.
“This class is designed to preserve muscle mass, enhance strength, and boost agility,” Holden explained, highlighting the unique benefits of her approach.
