Bindhya Subba, a yoga practitioner from Rinchenpong, Sikkim, has made history by becoming the first yoga judge from the state to officiate at a national-level competition.
Subba’s journey from a small town to the national stage is inspiring. With her dedication and passion for yoga, she has significantly influenced the practice in Sikkim. As a certified yoga professional with over 500 hours of teacher training, Subba has helped nurture young yogis in the region, leading many of her students to win gold medals at the National Yoga Olympiad. She has also been a key figure in promoting yoga education in local schools.
Her impact extends beyond Sikkim. Subba has judged yoga competitions at both district and state levels and has coached Sikkim’s participants at the Khelo India Youth Games. Recently, she excelled in the National Yogasana Judge Training Program, where she was recognized as both a “time judge” and an “evaluation judge.”
Now, Subba’s role as a judge at a National Level Yoga Competition in Chhattisgarh marks a significant milestone. This achievement not only showcases her expertise but also sets a precedent for future yoga practitioners from Sikkim to shine on the national stage.
