College Park, MD — College Park Yoga recently celebrated its 23rd anniversary, marking more than two decades of dedication to the practice of yoga therapy. Founded and owned by Calvin and Theresa Curameng, the studio has become a cornerstone in the community, offering yoga classes that prioritize both mental and physical well-being for individuals of all ages, body types, and experience levels.
Despite their long tenure in the business, the Curamengs say they feel as though their journey is only just beginning. Throughout their time running the studio, they have remained committed to the core principles of yoga, emphasizing traditional methods over fleeting trends or the high-intensity approaches often seen in modern gym-style studios.
“The essence of what we do is timeless,” said the Curamengs in a statement. “We stay true to our roots, focusing on helping people heal through yoga therapy, not just as a fitness trend, but as a transformative tool for physical and emotional well-being.”
Looking ahead, the couple remains energized by the personal connections they continue to foster with their students. “Every day is fresh and a new opportunity to help someone overcome their challenges, trauma, and physical ailments,” they said, reflecting on what has sustained their passion for the practice.
As College Park Yoga enters its next chapter, the Curamengs are eager to continue offering a space where people can find balance, healing, and a sense of community.
