ESTEVAN – The fourth annual OM Yoga Festival, which unfolded on July 20 and 21 at Rotary Park, has garnered acclaim as the most successful iteration to date, according to event organizer Kim Mayuk.
Drawing a diverse crowd of approximately 65 participants, with a significant majority traveling from outside the city, the festival showcased a lineup highlighted by prominent yoga instructors Ryan Leier and Dani Hebert, who journeyed from British Columbia specifically for the weekend.
“They’re widely recognized globally for their exceptional yoga teaching,” Mayuk remarked.
Leier, an ambassador for Lululemon renowned for his appearances at major events, joined his partner Hebert in delivering memorable sessions that resonated with attendees.
One standout addition to this year’s festival was Kirtan, described by Mayuk as a fusion of music, mantra, and meditation, marking its debut in the local community. Led by Shell Andrea and Anton Aguair, this component proved immensely popular among participants.
The event also featured a lineup of instructors including Mayuk herself, Lindsay Cameron, Jay Day, Grace Boyd, Kim Zacaruk, Kelsey Rydberg, Elle Garagan, Lacie Nilsen, Dan Wilvers, and LaDawn Insull.
Beyond yoga sessions, the festival offered a range of vendors and exhibitors providing various holistic services such as skin and body care products, gemstone jewelry, incense, essential oils, reflexology, and reiki sessions. Kimberley Dyck from Café Nourish delighted attendees with gluten and dairy-free muffins and refreshing lemonade elixirs.
EB’s provided catering throughout the event, offering gluten-free and vegetarian lunch options each day, enhancing the overall experience for participants.
Highlighting the scenic location, classes were held on the beach at Woodlawn’s Boundary Dam Beach Site for the first time since 2019, with access to the stage at Boundary Dam adding to the event’s charm, as noted by Mayuk.
The success of this year’s OM Yoga Festival underscores its growing significance in promoting wellness and community spirit, cementing its place as a key event in Estevan’s cultural calendar.
